Witzend #1 by Wally Wood

This is the cover to my very rare Witzend #1, Wally Wood's fanzine.

Dupont Circle in the Evening

This evening I reminded myself why I love living in DC. I passed Senator Orrin Hatch as I walked home past the Supreme Court, then I headed down the length of the National Mall until I got to the back of the White House. As I started around towards 17th Street, Michelle Obama came walking out the back with both daughters at her side and Bo jumping down the lawn. They were apparently headed to her garden, which can be seen on the South Lawn. The Secret Service then began to tell people to move on and I continued to Dupont Circle where I made these quick sketches. I got home and my kind friend Elizabeth asked if I'd like to go out and enjoy the warm evening, so we wandered to Malcolm X Park and had a wonderful talk on Buddhism and human nature and the plasticity of the mind.

Edie Sedgwick

Edie Sedgwick - she was the "it" girl of the 1960s but treated very badly by all who she loved. It is so sad, I wish I could have hugged her. RIP Edie.
